The Heart of Zoa: A Birthday Tribute to Chief Danise Richard Jacobs"

      · Love And Relationships
      Section image

Today marks a very special day as we celebrate the birthday of Chief Danise Richard Jacobs, the Khoi Chief of Zoa in the Western Cape. Chief Jacobs is not just a respected leader; he has become a close friend and, dare I say, family.

Initially, it was politics that brought us together, but what grew from that encounter is a bond that I deeply cherish.

The Khoisan community has always held a special place in my heart. However, it wasn’t until I formed this bond with the Chief that I began to fully understand the profound connection I feel. Reflecting on my journey, I now realize that my longstanding admiration for the Khoisan people was no coincidence.

As someone with a spiritual gift, many of the interests and connections I found intriguing years ago are now aligning and making sense.

My closeness to the Khoisan community, especially to Chief Jacobs and the people of Zoa, feels like a destined part of my journey.

Chief Jacobs has become an anchor in my life. His wisdom, kindness, and unwavering belief in African traditions have inspired me in ways I cannot fully express. When I opened up to him about my spiritual gift and the challenges I face, he did not judge me—instead, he embraced my truth.

He acknowledged my gift and praised me for staying true to my ancestral lineage, for embracing who I am, and for being a proud African deeply rooted in the traditions and culture of our continent. His words of encouragement have been a source of strength and validation for me.

Beyond his role as a leader, Chief Danise Richard Jacobs is also a father of two, a loving partner, and a qualified chef. These facets of his life showcase the depth of his character and his ability to lead with compassion and humanity.

His dedication to his people is matched only by his devotion to his family and his incredible talent in the kitchen—a reflection of the balance and versatility he embodies as a person.

The Khoisan people, much like the Rastafarian community, have become an integral part of my journey. These relationships are teaching me so much about identity, culture, and spirituality. I am in awe of the magic and fabulocity we have created together thus far, and I eagerly anticipate what the future holds.

On this special day, I want to send Chief Jacobs a heartfelt birthday message. Chief, your birthday is not just your day—it’s a celebration for all of us who have been fortunate enough to know you, learn from you, and walk this path alongside you.

We honor you, we love you, and we are grateful for the light and leadership you bring to the Zoa community and beyond.

To the Chief and the people of Zoa: thank you for allowing me to be part of your world. Thank you for embracing me, for teaching me, and for reminding me of the importance of staying true to who we are as Africans.

Today, we celebrate you, Chief Jacobs, and the remarkable legacy you continue to build. Happy Birthday, Chief.

May your day be as extraordinary as you are!
